How do I remove a virus from my SD card?

My SD card has a virus, I can see the pictures on my camera but not on my computer. How do I remove the pictures from the SD card unto the computer before I reformat it if I cant even see the files on it. It shows some weird files, like shortcuts that lead to nothing. Really do not want to lose the pictures and have tried running an anti-virus software on it. Running out of ideas, any help?
