It's almost impossible but it happenned and i was not day dreaming?

I once saw a cat allow a dog hold it's neck with the mouth and the paws of the dog were on the cat as if it was attacking it.I tried shooing away the dog but then the cat did not run way neither did the dog.they again went somewhere together and just stayed.It was the cat allowing the dog to do that to it.How could that happen?
