How to get rid of a bully?

So I'm in grade 9 and in my class there is a friend of mine who got mad at me for a really small reason, like really really small. I apologized, tried to be the mature one but he kept insulting me. Also, we have the same group of friends, and every time the group hang out, i always get left out or shoo away by him because he is way more entertaining than me. He talks to me like a pet or something, he often says: "no bad bad bad, shoo" and such but I keep quiet. My friends don't stand up for me either, my best friend hates him but don't want to say anything because then my best friend would get the same thing I'm experiencing. Please help me, I'm now really sick of his BS.
