Are cats aware of their own physical appearances?

It's not exactly permanetly said weather they know their appearence. When they lick themselves I assume they know what they kind of look like. But, as far as their face nope. When they look at themselves in the mirror they think it's another cat, hiss, and run away. The less beautiful one probably doesnt know. I mean humans look in the mirror every day and are aware of their looks. But, how many cats do you know that look at their reflections? But, he will realize you are paying for attention to the beautiful one and will probably wonder why. I love cats :)
