HELP! My kitten ate hair ties!?

My 6 month old kitten apparently has been busy eating hair ties. I woke up last night to the sound of violent vomiting and she threw up about 4 hair ties. She went back to sleep and woke up a few hours later and immediately threw up. So obviously I took her to the vet right away. The vet told me they could still feel some in her tummy, and at first said they wanted to keep her overnight and try and get her to pass them. I said fine, but when I went to the front desk to pay they told me they were going to give her a rabies shot as well- I do not want her to get that vaccine and I feel it is my personal preference as a pet owner to decide that. Then immediately the front desk girl got all snippy with me and told me to bring her home because all of a sudden "they were confident enough that she would pass them". Told me to buy Laxodone. So I got her home, and she just seemed very worn out from all the stuff that had gone on. She didn't throw up all day and I gave her the Laxodone as instructed. She drank a bit of water but mostly layed down all day. But just now, she threw up again and it was hot green. She hasn't gone to the bathroom at all and I am really freaking out and upset. I know they told me there is a possibility she may need surgery, but I am very upset with the way they basically shooed me off because I didn't want the vaccine. I don't know whether to take her back tomorrow or wait a few days. Please help!
