Windows cannot find Recycler.exe?

That is odd ... sounds like a virus to me. Make sure your current AV program is up to date, perhaps even switch it up. MS security essentials .. Avast and AVG all are free or have free versions that are highly effective. You may have lost the content of these folders, if so ... after you have run a full scan with anti virus ... download an app for recovering lost or deleted data. The app will scan the hard disks for recently deleted data, but dramatically looses its success rate if you write new data to the disks in question... so don't save anything new to that hard drive if this is the case.
